The Department of Health (DOH) reported that although the number of tuberculosis (TB) cases reported in the country in the first three months of 2020 has drastically gone down, this does not necessarily mean good news.

It was in January 2007 when Louie Zepeda-Teng was diagnosed of TB Meningitis, a condition that has since then changed her life forever. TB Meningitis is an offshoot of tuberculosis, an airborne disease that usually affects the lungs. But in Louie’s case, the bacteria had affected her brain.

March 24, 2020, Manila --- Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III today urged Filipinos undergoing treatment for active tuberculosis (TB) disease to get their free medicines, good for one month, instead of going to the health facility for their daily dose of TB medicines.
