The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has scaled up its partnership with the private sector to promote health-seeking behavior among the most vulnerable population through a kick-off event with Asia’s premier coating manufacturer, Nippon Paint, recently at Binangonan Rural Health Unit.
Through the USAID-TBIHSS, implemented by FHI 360, eight TB-DOTS clinics across the country were selected to be repainted with murals and messaging depicting the Department of Health’s Healthy Lungs campaign, which sought to create a welcoming space among patients seeking treatment for tuberculosis.

Joegene Mangilaya, 31, and Daisy Dapadap, 43, both have something in common. Aside from already being cured of TB, they belong to different TB organizations that serve the community by providing delivery service and proper information.
“This is the perfect time to serve the people,” said Joegene, who was diagnosed with Drug-Resistant TB (DRTB) last February 2022 and was completely cured last December 2022. He has been a member of TB People Philippines for the last month.

In an effort to raise awareness of Tuberculosis (TB) and that it can be cured, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) through its TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening (USAID’s TBIHSS) Project has come out with stories of hope, revival and healing for individuals facing the condition.
USAID’s TBIHSS is a five-year project designed to bring a dynamic and strategic approach to accelerate the fight against TB in the Philippines.

Among these were De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute, Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, and Hi-Precision Diagnostics.
